Finalists of the CSIC’s Entrepreneurship Hackathon Activa-T

TriboMeter advances as finalist in CSIC’s Activa-T Hackathon.

TriboMeter has been selected as one of the eight final projects in the CSIC’s hackathon Activa-T program (EBTon Sevilla 2025), an initiative that identifies projects with great innovative potential and supports them in their first steps towards industry.

TriboMeter spin-off idea, developed under the frame of the ERC Consolidator Grant TriboMed, consists on the commercialization of a standardized and automated characterization system for triboelectric nanogenerators technology. In the first 2-days session, the candidates receive training and prepare an elevator pitch explaining their business model. After being selected as finalists, the team returned to Seville for the second session, where an extended version of the business model was presented to a specialized jury. Four groups were selected as winners receiving a €20,000 grant to continue developing their product idea.

It has been a great experience of entrepreneurship, learning how to transfer scientific ideas to the market with the help of the CSIC team. Congratulations to the award-winning projects.
